We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef De Partie to join our team at Aether, a premium private terminal at Manchester Airport. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food quality and service to our discerning guests.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Lead and mentor Commis Chefs in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure proper stocks of food and supplies.
- Maintain food quality and implement health and safety standards within the kitchen.
- Prepare, cook, and deliver food in accordance with the agreed menu and lounge operating procedures.
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing and cooking all varieties of foods.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders, ensuring stored correctly, rotated, and maintained.
- Complete required stock checks, including temperature checks, and complete the appropriate documentation.
- Work with Commis Chefs and Senior Chefs to prepare foods to be cooked, including washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding.
- Ensure the food offering is presented to a high standard, maintaining the food offering and ensuring presentation meets operating standards.
- Dispose of waste, including recycling, in the appropriate manner and remove it to the designated location.
- Assist in one-to-one training of new staff, including subcontracted supplier staff, to uphold high levels of presentation, hospitality, and service.
- NVQ Level 2 Commis Chef or C&G Food Production or equivalent is desirable.
- A background in hospitality and service sectors, with a proven track record of high-end delivery.
- Undertaken a similar role or working as a Commis Chef and ready for the next step.
- Demonstrates advanced skills and techniques in food production.
- Knowledge on how to handle and store product to maintain quality and in line with food safety legislation.
- A solid background in hospitality and service sectors, with a proven track record of high-end delivery.
- Experience of working on own initiative, capable of building solid and beneficial relationships both internally and externally.
- Able to demonstrate a wide range of food preparation, knife, and cooking skills.
- A team player with an absolute first-class approach to customer service, know how to brief and coach and team to deliver high-quality dishes and menu items.
- Understands the principles of supply chain management, sustainable procurement, and working practices in the kitchen.
