About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef de Partie to join our Aether Hospitality Team at Manchester Airport. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food quality and service to our discerning guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor Commis Chefs in their daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure proper stock levels and maintain food quality.
  • Implement and maintain health and safety standards within the kitchen.
  • Prepare, cook, and deliver food in accordance with the agreed menu and Lounge Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and maintain proper storage and rotation.
  • Complete required stock checks, including temperature checks, and document accordingly.
  • Work with Commis Chefs and Senior Chefs to prepare foods for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding.
  • Ensure the food offering is presented to a high standard, maintaining presentation and meeting operating standards.
  • Dispose of waste, including recycling, in the appropriate manner and remove it to the designated location.
  • Assist in one-to-one training of new staff, including subcontracted supplier staff, to uphold high standards of presentation, hospitality, and service.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 Commis Chef or C&G Food Production or equivalent is desirable.
  • A background in hospitality and service sectors, with a proven track record of high-end delivery.
  • Experience in a similar role or working as a Commis Chef, ready for the next step.
  • Demonstrates advanced skills and techniques in food production.
  • Knowledge of how to handle and store product to maintain quality and in line with food safety legislation.
  • A solid background in hospitality and service sectors, with a proven track record of high-end delivery.
  • Experience of working on own initiative, capable of building solid and beneficial relationships both internally and externally.
  • Able to demonstrate a wide range of food preparation, knife, and cooking skills.
  • A team player with an absolute first-class approach to customer service, able to brief and coach and team to deliver high-quality dishes and menu items.
  • Understands the principles of supply chain management, sustainable procurement, and working practices in the kitchen.
