Position Overview

The Engineering Projects Manager, recognized internally as the Central Engineering Projects Manager, will operate primarily from home, with responsibilities spanning multiple sites.

Role Responsibilities

This permanent position is pivotal in driving the company’s objectives by ensuring that all facilities, equipment, and services meet the stringent standards required for food production.

  • Actively engage as a member of the Central Engineering Team to enhance internal customer satisfaction, uphold Health and Safety standards, ensure compliance, and achieve technical benchmarks.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of capital projects within a food manufacturing context, from initial concept through to final handover.
  • Supervise and coordinate the execution of capital projects, collaborating with site teams, suppliers, and contractors to guarantee timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Implement a structured project management framework encompassing inception, planning, execution, and post-implementation evaluations.
  • Manage a variety of construction projects, including new builds and expansions across various sites, with budgets ranging from £100k to £30 million.
  • Coordinate all internal fit-out and facility requirements across UK locations.
  • Work alongside the legal team to ensure that all contracts and warranties are appropriate and effective.
Health and Safety Compliance

Ensure adherence to the company’s Health and Safety, Environmental, Hygiene, and Communication policies among all engineering personnel, emphasizing safe working practices.

Conduct necessary testing of equipment and machinery in line with statutory regulations for all new capital expenditures.

Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with established safety protocols, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures.

Collaborate with factory management to ensure contractor activities are well-communicated and understood by all teams involved.

Proactively identify and address any hazards or unsafe practices in the workplace.
