Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 1

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a welcoming primary school in Preston. As a General Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of children in Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support class teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them with reading, writing, numeracy, and other subjects.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and helping to tailor support to individual needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Supervise and support children during playtime, lunchtime, and other activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the well-being and academic progress of all students.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
  • A good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or child development are desirable.
