Job Title: General Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Preston. As a General Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher to provide the best possible education for our pupils.

About the Role

This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent in the future. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to provide support to children in Key Stage One. You will be responsible for assisting with lesson planning, preparing resources, and supporting the teacher in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons
  • Prepare resources and materials for lessons
  • Support the teacher in the classroom, including supervising children during activities
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualification) Grade C or above
  • Previous experience of working in a KS1 setting
  • A clear knowledge and understanding of the KS1 curriculum

We offer a competitive pay rate of £13.50 per hour, inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated and supportive staff, and contribute to the education and development of our pupils.
