As a Specialist Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, and treating adult clients with communication and swallowing difficulties in the community and university hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to adult clients with complex communication and swallowing needs.
  • Service Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of speech and language therapy services, ensuring they meet the needs of clients and stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to clients.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and education to junior therapists, assistants, and volunteers on advanced speech and language therapy techniques and best practices.
  • Research and Development: Participate in research and development activities to improve speech and language therapy services and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Recognized Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
  • Registration: Health and Care Professions Council – License to Practice.
  • Membership: Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience: Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses up to Master's degree equivalent.
