Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy General Manager to lead our Cellular Pathology services across Surrey sites. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the service, including financial and workforce resources, to deliver high-quality services and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all financial and workforce resources across the Surrey Cellular Pathology laboratories.
  • Develop and promote a clear sense of direction to meet corporate and local objectives.
  • Deliver a balanced budget and financial viability.
  • Lead and performance manage teams and individuals.
  • Implement and evaluate projects/initiatives to address changing workforce/service environments.
  • Recruit staff and assess performance.
  • Manage stock and replenishment processes.
Requirements
  • CPD registered with current evidence MSc Biomedical Science or equivalent.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Pathology and corporate governance and risk management systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of health policy, especially NHS Plan and modernisation agendas.
  • Understanding of training needs and standards within pathology.
