Lead Property Claims Specialist

We are thrilled to present a remarkable opportunity within our Large Loss division for a seasoned Property Claims Specialist. As a Lead Property Claims Specialist, you will oversee a portfolio of intricate and high-value claims.

You will spend a minimum of 40% of your week away from home, whether at one of our office locations, meeting clients, or participating in industry-related events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage a portfolio of Property Claims with potential values exceeding £500K from the initial notification through to final settlement.
- Your portfolio will primarily consist of first-party Commercial Property losses, including incidents such as fire, flood, and storm, which may also encompass business interruption and alternative accommodation.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring precise estimating and controlling indemnity expenses.
- Share your expertise and assist in the development of team members and the broader claims community.
- Foster strong working relationships with Loss Adjusters, legal representatives, and other service providers.
- Maintain regular communication with policyholders, their representatives, and underwriting colleagues.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Extensive experience in managing high-value and complex commercial property claims with settlements of at least £500K.
- Familiarity with Household claims, Third Party property claims, and Financial lines is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Educational background at A-Level or degree level, or equivalent professional qualifications (ACII/FCII/CILA).
- An inspiring leader with empathy and a flexible approach to achieve successful outcomes.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding service to clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in influencing and negotiation.
As a prerequisite for this role, candidates must be eligible and authorized to work in the United Kingdom.
This position is classified as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD framework, which entails that, in addition to pre-employment screening, the successful candidate will undergo background checks every four years with an annual declaration in the intervening years.
