Your Responsibilities as a Lead Claims Specialist:

  • Oversee a portfolio of claims while delivering outstanding service to policyholders throughout the claims process.
  • Focus on proactive claims management and ensuring a superior customer service experience.
  • Act as the primary contact for any incoming broker inquiries or complaints, ensuring they are addressed appropriately.
  • Ensure timely task allocation within departmental, company, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage policyholders' expectations effectively.
  • Keep brokers and policyholders informed throughout the claims process.
  • Handle complaints confidently with minimal assistance from senior management.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, delivering relevant training as needed.
  • Offer daily support and guidance to junior staff.
  • Monitor departmental workload, prioritize tasks for junior staff, and prevent backlog.
  • Assist with departmental reports and audits in the absence of more senior claims handlers.

We would love to hear from you if you possess the following qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in a similar Lead Claims Specialist role, specifically managing third-party claims.
  • Proven ability to train and mentor junior team members.
  • Possession of a CII Certificate or a willingness to pursue this qualification.
  • A Dip CII qualification would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including active listening abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
