The position of Site Operations Coordinator involves meticulous tracking of all materials entering and exiting the facility, alongside essential data management tasks.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will oversee site personnel to guarantee that operations are conducted safely and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Sims Metal.
Key duties include:
- Managing incoming telephone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Collaborating with yard staff to ensure accurate processing of all incoming and outgoing loads.
- Acting as a liaison for customers, truck drivers, contractors, and other visitors at the facility.
- Ensuring that all personnel, contractors, and visitors adhere to the Company Health and Safety Policy.
- Providing oversight for site operations in the absence of the Site Manager.
- Promoting a culture of safety and health within the workplace.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining quality standards.
- Monitoring the quality of materials received at the site.
- Demonstrating accountability for all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies and initiatives.
Previous experience in the waste management or metal recycling industry is preferred. Strong proficiency in IT applications, particularly MS Word and Excel, is essential.
