Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our Court Team in Sutton. As a Social Worker in this role, you will work with vulnerable adults involved in legal proceedings, providing assessments and recommendations that protect individual's rights and well-being within the legal framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake thorough initial assessments of individuals and families referred to the council, identifying immediate needs and risks.
  • Manage cases that require legal intervention under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Care Act 2014, or other relevant legislation, including preparing court reports, attending hearings, and providing evidence to protect vulnerable adults.
  • Handle urgent and complex cases with sensitivity and efficiency, providing crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and produce high-quality, detailed court reports, including Section 7 and Section 47 reports, care plans, and statements, ensuring all information is accurate.
  • Draft and submit legal documents for court proceedings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory guidelines and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Relevant social work qualification.
