Our Theatre Environment

We operate seven modern theatres in Chelsea, including three robotic theatres, and three theatres in Sutton. Our diverse range of specialties encompasses Sarcoma and Melanoma, Upper and Lower GI, Plastics, Head and Neck, Gynaecology, Urology, and Breast, utilizing a wide array of surgical techniques.

Your Role as a Surgical Theatre Support Specialist

As a key member of our dedicated theatre team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, collaborating with the shift coordinator to ensure their needs are met.
  • Performing all tasks associated with registered theatre nurses/ODPs, including resuscitation, scrub and circulation duties, adhering to national and trust theatre policies.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in the safe use of complex scrub equipment (diathermy, laparoscopic etc.) and maintaining a thorough understanding of decontamination processes, particularly for flexible scopes and instrument sterilization.
  • Supporting senior staff and multidisciplinary team members in upholding exceptional clinical standards, contributing to staff development initiatives within the theatre environment.
  • Delivering high-quality, individualized, evidence-based care to patients, collaborating with the multi-professional team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
