Job Title: Senior People Development Advisor

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior People Development Advisor to join our team at JD Sports. As a key member of our People Development function, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, commercially focused People Development services that support our business development strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the People Development Manager in ensuring the quality of all development initiatives and activities.
  • Lead the planning, organisation, and implementation of all development activities.
  • Operate as a subject matter expert within the People Development Team to provide best practice guidance and support to the team and wider stakeholders.
  • Act as a supervisor for the team, offering guidance, support, and encouragement to maintain focus and engagement while identifying potential issues and resolving them.
  • Support the ongoing project management for development initiatives and activities.
  • Write, check, and maintain processes and procedures within the team to streamline workflows and create better ways of working.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Write and deliver performance-focused People Development activities to audiences across the group through instructor-led virtual sessions, coaching, and face-to-face sessions.
  • Conduct follow-up activities to ensure impact after development interventions and to inform further learning needs.
  • Participate in the learning design process to evaluate learning interventions and continuously improve the People Development offer.
  • Act as a coach for individuals on programmes or 1:1 as part of their personal and professional development.
  • Work with Line Managers to improve team KPI delivery, identify trends, and work in partnership to improve areas of concern through effective individual and team development activities.
  • Stay up to date and apply current theory in the practice of training delivery.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication, training delivery, and coaching skills.
  • Have a drive to keep up to date with current learning and development practices and a thorough understanding of learning and development principles.
  • Be passionate about delivering exciting learning experiences that positively impact both an individual's performance and business performance.
  • Be able to demonstrate a proven track record showing their ability to deliver learning activity that is focused on performance development and aligned to business objectives.
  • Have experience in writing and designing engaging learning experiences that follow a proven structure and produce results.
  • Be able to analyse data to inform further development needs for the individual, the business, and continuous improvement of learning materials.
  • Possess a commercial mindset, high levels of resilience, and be able to work within a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Have strong project management skills, including planning work and managing multiple tasks/projects to deliver consistent results.
  • Be ambitious to learn with an enthusiastic approach, curiosity, and appetite for development.
  • Have excellent IT skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, Internet, Outlook, MS Teams, LMS) and the ability to interrogate data to inform decisions.
