Job Title: Group Financial Accountant

Greenwell Gleeson is seeking a highly skilled Group Financial Accountant to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for managing the group's treasury and cash management functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Motivate a Team: You will lead, motivate, and communicate with a direct report to ensure they are fully motivated to achieve best performance to meet the company's objectives.
  • Provide Support: You will provide additional ad-hoc support to the Group Financial Controller and Ledger Supervisor to cover periods of holiday or absence.
  • Improve Processes: You will drive new ways of working, continually improve the ledger function's processes and procedures.
  • Year-End Audit: You will act as the key contact during the year-end audit, completing evidence requests and undertaking relevant process walkthroughs.
  • VAT Treatment: You will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of VAT treatment, including subcontractor certificates, prior to being posted.
  • Cash Management: You will be responsible for managing the cashbook, undertaking bank reconciliations, and actively exploring ways to streamline this process.
  • Collaboration: You will liaise and collaborate with relevant Commercial colleagues and Finance Business Partners to ensure group and individual subsidiary headrooms are maintained.
Requirements:
  • Experience: You will have experience in the house building or construction industry, with a high level of understanding of VAT treatment in construction.
  • Skills: You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels both internal and external to the business.
  • Leadership: You will be able to lead and motivate a team, with a high level of professionalism and knowledge.
  • Problem-Solving: You will be able to drive new ways of working, continually improve processes and procedures, and actively explore ways to streamline processes.
