Apprentice Building Surveyor

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be based in either Staffordshire or Bolton office and will work closely with various departments including commercial, operations, and finance. The candidate will work directly under the guidance of the Commercial Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production of weekly and monthly cost/value reconciliations.
- Play a key role bridging the gap between operations and clients to agree on client variations and changes to scope, providing variation justifications and agreeing these with clients in a timely manner.
- Liaising with various departments including design and operations to report and manage the commercial performance of schemes in your region.
- Attend monthly operational meetings to discuss regional performance of schemes, taking accountability for performance to interrogate performance and ensure appropriate actions are in place to resolve any underperformance.
- Preparing client valuations and managing client relationships/disputes.
- Management of client debt while establishing strong relationships with clients.
- Preparing final accounts for both clients and subcontractors.
Requirements:
- Experience working in the utility sector commercial/financial environment.
- Management and production of cost value reconciliation.
- Experience working directly with clients.
- Building internal and external relationships.
- Proficient in the use of Excel spreadsheets and document management packages.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with commercial contract terms.
- Previous experience dealing with client variations/changes of scope and getting these agreed with clients.
- Experience leading meetings.
