Key Responsibilities

In this managerial role, you will collaborate across the regulation directorate on various projects, gaining extensive experience over time. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Registering new higher education institutions seeking to enter the sector
  • Evaluating institutions' plans to enhance access and participation for underrepresented demographics
  • Implementing funded initiatives such as Uni Connect
  • Investigating and assessing compliance with registration conditions, intervening in students' best interests when necessary
  • Formulating and executing policy reforms aimed at improving quality, standards, and equal opportunities
  • Enhancing our systems that provide services to educational providers

Throughout your projects, you will lead your own areas of work while supporting and managing your team effectively.

  • Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with individuals at all levels

Our Mission

The primary function of the regulation directorate is to develop and implement the OfS's regulatory framework. We design and deliver high-quality services for market entry, degree-awarding powers, and university titles, while also overseeing the ongoing monitoring of registered providers.

We are committed to implementing the OfS's innovative approach to regulating quality and standards, including the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework. Additionally, we strive to promote equitable access to and participation in higher education for all students, irrespective of their backgrounds. We regulate access and participation plans and execute funded programs such as Uni Connect.
