Biomedical Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team at NHS Blood and Transplant. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will play a critical role in the provision of life-saving stem cell transplants, working closely with our team of experts to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and interpret a wide range of laboratory investigations and technical procedures relating to patient test results and the processing and issue of stem cell and immunotherapy products.
- Support and train new and less experienced staff in laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Handle blood and tissue samples and operate a range of laboratory analysers and equipment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Participate in the departments on-call rota, following appropriate training.
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientist.
- Science graduate with relevant postgraduate training, such as a British Blood Transfusion Society specialist certificate or a British Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Diploma.
- Evidence of continuous learning and professional development.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development.
