About the Role
SOAS University of London is seeking a part-time project coordinator to assist Dr. Zerrin Ozlem Biner, senior lecturer at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology, in delivering the research objectives of the AHRC-funded project, "Archives of Solidarity: Precarity, Creativity and Shared Future-making across Closed Borders".
The project coordinator will be part of an interdisciplinary team working with the Principal Investigator to manage the project, including liaising with stakeholders, organizing workshops and symposia, monitoring research budgets, and ensuring data protection.
The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating large research projects and be trained in the social sciences. They will be responsible for developing content for social media and the project website, sourcing and generating content, and assisting the PI with overall project management.
The position is part-time (40 percent, 14 hours per week, 34 months) and will involve working with a collaborative and innovative anthropology project that aims to create a multi-modal digital archive of solidarity practices involving citizens and refugees in Turkey and the UK.

The Department of Anthropology and Sociology at SOAS is a world-leading, research-led department, ranked 5th in the UK and 16th worldwide. Its academics and research students work across a wide spectrum of anthropological, regional, and theoretical issues, including development, medical and psychological anthropology, food, migration, political economy, democracy, conflict, gender, race, the environment, critical theory, and innovative ethnographic methods.
The department has a strong focus on fostering a supportive learning and teaching environment for its students, with a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the MA Social Anthropology, MA Anthropology of Food, and MA Migration and Diaspora Studies.
About the Project
The AHRC-funded project, "Archives of Solidarity: Precarity, Creativity and Shared Future-making across Closed Borders", aims to use oral history, ethnography, and literary and audio-visual methods to create a multi-modal digital archive of solidarity practices involving citizens and refugees in Turkey and the UK.
The project will involve working with a collaborative and innovative anthropology project that aims to create a digital archive of solidarity practices, and the project coordinator will play a key role in managing the project and ensuring its successful delivery.
