About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Youth Justice Officer to join our team at Portsmouth City Council. As a key member of our Children, Families and Education Directorate, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable young people and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with children subject to preventative and statutory interventions to reduce youth crime and promote positive outcomes.
  • Liaise with colleagues and external partners to gather information and develop high-quality assessments and interventions.
  • Write reports, undertake court and office duties, and deliver individual and group-based programs of intervention.
  • Coordinate the input of other professionals and work with children, parents, and carers to support sustainable change.
Requirements
  • Experience working within Youth Justice or a comprehensive understanding of this area of work.
  • Education to 'A-level' standard or equivalent at Level 3.
  • Professional qualification in a relevant discipline (desirable).
  • Excellent knowledge of and skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and review.
  • Ability to deliver a range of interventions with young people displaying levels of risk and vulnerability.
