About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Orthodontic Consultant to join our team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Orthodontic department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and supervise NHS clinics within the department, providing expert care to patients with complex orthodontic needs.
  • Contribute to continuing education, professional development, and clinical audit within the department.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients with significant malocclusions, including those requiring orthognathic surgery.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, including Specialist Registrars and Orthodontic Therapists.
  • Engage in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.

Requirements

  • Full registration with the General Dental Council and on the GDC Specialist List in Orthodontics.
  • Membership in Orthodontics or equivalent.
  • Intercollegiate Fellowship Examination in Orthodontics or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an SAC-approved three-year training programme in Orthodontics or equivalent.
