Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Autism Support

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in Amersham & Hazlemere. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a commitment to providing high-quality support.

Job Summary:

The role will involve collaborating with teachers to create and deliver activities, developing holistic approaches to meeting students' needs, and working with external agencies to provide the best support possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers to create and deliver activities that meet the needs of students with ASC
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans, Risk Assessments, and Personal Care and Therapy Care programmes
  • Work with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies to provide the best support possible
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with ASC or a willingness to work with ASC children
  • Good knowledge of SEN and a passion to develop
  • Able to commit to working fixed days - full or part time
  • NVQ in Childcare and Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • May have had previous experience in residential support work, care, or support working in schools
  • Team Teach, TEACCH, or Positive Handling training
  • Experience of developing independence in young people
  • Experience of supporting social and emotional development
  • Clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
