Resuscitation Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resuscitation Officer to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Resuscitation Officer, you will play a critical role in providing a comprehensive and effective clinical and educational service across the Trust.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, guidelines, and procedures relating to resuscitation and DNACPR throughout the Trust.
- Establish and maintain effective lines of communication with Trust employees and management.
- Deliver teaching to nursing, medical, and other appropriate staff in resuscitation.
- Attend calls to the cardiac arrest team (adult and pediatric).
- Assist in the audit requirements of the department.
Professional Role:
- Promote the importance of resuscitation throughout the Trust.
- Assist in the implementation of an effective equipment replacement programme when required.
- Will be a member of the Resuscitation Committee.
- Will deputise at meetings when required.
- Will take personal responsibility for own professional development and keep up to date with resuscitation developments.
- Will maintain effective teamwork and communication within the Resuscitation Department.
Clinical Role:
- Maintain clinical expertise by attending resuscitation attempts.
- Ensure that procedures carried out are within current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
- Act as a role model in resuscitation practice, leading the cardiac arrest team where necessary.
- Ensure that resuscitation attempts attended are accurately documented.
