Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Resuscitation Officer to join the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and effective clinical and educational service across the Trust.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • To act as an informed resource in resuscitation issues for all staff within the Trust.
  • To contribute to the planning, organisation and implementation of an effective resuscitation service.
  • To teach resuscitation skills in line with Trust protocols and Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
  • To take part in clinical research and audit.
  • To ensure a standardised approach to resuscitation and resuscitation training throughout the Trust, recognising the differing needs of Trust staff.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered General Nurse, ODP or Paramedic.
  • Resuscitation Council (UK) ILS Instructor or Instructor Potential.

Desirable

  • ALS instructor/provider.
  • EPLS/APLS provider.

Experience

Essential

  • Post registration experience in an acute or critical care environment with exposure to cardiac arrests.
  • Previous teaching experience.

Desirable

  • Exposure to adult and paediatric emergencies.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Debriefing and bereavement skills.
  • Able to prioritise and adapt to workload.

Desirable

  • Participation in clinical audit.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Evidence of project management.
