Job Title: Apprentice Mechanical Engineer

Location: Manchester

Job Type: Temporary

Hours of Work: Shift 4 on 4 off - (2 days 7am - 7pm / 2 nights 7pm - 7am - 4 days off)

Hourly Pay Rate: £25.38p/h Via Umbrella

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Manchester. The successful candidate will have good experience working in a building maintenance environment and be able to perform a range of tasks including PPM and reactive maintenance, fault finding and rectification, and regular fire alarm testing and drills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform PPM and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of building services.
  2. Conduct fault finding and rectification tasks to identify and resolve issues with mechanical equipment.
  3. Regularly test and maintain fire alarm systems to ensure they are in working order and update the fire alarm log book.
  4. Liaise with management to discuss health and safety procedures, ongoing repairs and faults, maintenance and building services.
  5. Assist with basic fabric duties on site as required.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum C&G level/NVQ 2 in mechanical engineering or plumbing.
  2. Experience in commercial building services.
  3. General maintenance experience.
  4. Time served in an apprenticeship is an advantage.
