Job Summary

Kier Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Manchester. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working with our engineering consultancy division to provide design solutions and technical advice to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement mechanical design solutions for various projects, including pumping systems and pumping stations.
  • Conduct hydraulic calculations and select suitable pumps for projects.
  • Design and develop pumping systems, including pipework and valving arrangements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) meetings to ensure project safety.

Requirements

  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE) or working towards.
  • Several years of postgraduate experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Experience working on pumping stations in the water sector.
