About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analysis Professional to join our team at Hampshire County Council. As a key member of our Bridge Design Teams, you will be responsible for conducting thorough structural assessments, maintenance, strengthening, and replacement schemes for our extensive network of bridges and structures.

Our team is responsible for maintaining over 1750 structures of various types, from single-span brick arches to Grade II listed cast iron bridges, modern steel, and reinforced concrete bridges, and retaining walls. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the safety and integrity of these structures, as well as providing technical support to external clients, developers, contractors, and other local authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough structural assessments, maintenance, strengthening, and replacement schemes for bridges and structures
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to ensure the safety and integrity of structures
  • Provide technical support to external clients, developers, contractors, and other local authorities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of projects
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices
Requirements
  • Educated to Degree level in Civil or Structural Engineering or significant relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of structural behaviour, design codes, materials, and proficient in computer analysis
  • Working knowledge of the application of structural analysis programs
  • Good communication skills and a high standard of report writing
  • Current driver's license is essential for travel to various locations within Hampshire
