Senior Field and Airborne Support Team (FAST) Technician
Key Qualifications:
CAA B1 Licensed Engineer with a minimum of three Gulfstream type ratings.
Current certifications in EWIS, Human Factors, and Fuel Tank Safety are mandatory.
Residence should be within a 1-2 hour commute to Luton Airport.
Education and Experience RequirementsCompletion of an aviation sector apprenticeship or equivalent experience is essential.
• Extensive experience in the inspection, maintenance, or servicing of large/mid-size aircraft (CAT 1) is required. Other EASA Part 66 full B1, B2, or B1/2 License is necessary. A valid Driver's License and Passport are also required.
Essential Functions:
- Must be available for on-call duties, capable of reaching the FAST aircraft within two hours of initial contact. Acts as the primary liaison between Gulfstream and the customer, ensuring accurate communication regarding aircraft schedules and service expectations.
- Conducts necessary AOG maintenance and servicing for all aircraft mechanical and avionics systems. Must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and consistently perform assigned maintenance and avionics tasks.
- Ensures compliance with internal and EASA inspection and documentation standards. Acts as an inspector for specific aircraft, line, or base maintenance inputs in accordance with MOE Part 1.4.6. Completes work order sign-offs, logbook entries, shift turnovers, expense reports, and all other documentation promptly, ensuring all work meets quality standards.
- Certifies tasks they are trained and authorized to perform. Inspects and certifies at both Luton main base and other global locations. Additionally, carries out other maintenance tasks as requested by the Maintenance Team Leader, including Category 'C' Certification for qualified personnel in accordance with MOE Part 3.4.
- Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with customers, providing direct familiarization briefings during road trips.
- Promotes and ensures that the quality of workmanship in the final product meets EASA and UK CAA standards, adhering to statutory and company regulations for all maintenance and design change work on aircraft and components.
- Coordinates with Line Service and FBO operations to schedule and assist with aircraft movements. Arranges for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed and inspects all interior installations, recording any discrepancies.
- Provides regular updates on aircraft status and customer support activities to the Field Service Representative and management.
- Adheres to the company's 'Maintenance Organisation Expedition' and 'Safety Management System' requirements, including all health and safety protocols.
- Participates in assigned personal Employee Performance Review (EPR) Goals.
- Ensures completion of all mandatory training courses and CBTs.
Additional Functions:
- Ensures understanding and compliance with all relevant corporate policies.
- Attends required meetings with internal and external customers as assigned.
- Acts as Technician Sr when requested.
Other Requirements:
- Formal training in Gulfstream product line maintenance procedures and practices is preferred, including Flight Safety Maintenance initial training for specific models.
- Must possess a comprehensive understanding of company policies, Repair Station and Quality Control Manual, relevant process specifications, and technical reference materials.
- Ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, often at short notice.
