Position Overview
Koura Global is seeking a Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of E/I equipment.

Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for E/I tasks, including inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and analyze plant and equipment performance to identify and resolve safety, technical, or reliability issues.
  • Manage modifications and minor projects as directed by the E/I Management Team.
  • Serve as a lead technician and quality control resource for electrical and instrumentation activities.
  • Facilitate the training and development of technicians and apprentices by sharing expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards and implement necessary processes.
  • Maintain project documentation for E/I projects, ensuring accuracy in maintenance records and drawings.
  • Support the E/I Operating Engineer and Coordinator as needed.
  • Assist in managing radioactive sources and participate in related audits.
  • Oversee contractors and technicians during annual plant overhauls.
  • Handle work orders, material orders, and assist with various SAP-related tasks.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A recognized Technical Apprenticeship in Electrical and Instrumentation.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical and Instrument Maintenance.
  • An HND or equivalent in Electrical or Control Engineering.

Knowledge and Experience
Ideal candidates will have:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical and Instrument Technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of safe work systems and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Strong technical skills across various electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Experience in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or oil and gas sectors.
  • Experience managing small teams on projects or during overhaul events.
  • Compex certification or equivalent experience with hazardous area equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, VSDs, DCS Systems, and SAP.
