Job Title: Group Accounting Manager

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Group Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the accounting and financial reporting functions for our group of companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, including the group consolidation, quarterly and annual lender covenant reporting, and statutory financial statements.
  • Develop and implement financial reporting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the technical aspects of financial accounting, including multiple jurisdictions and currencies, disclosures, keynotes, statutory cash flow statement, impairment reviews, SECR reporting, and auditor queries.
  • Collaborate with auditors to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the finance team and other stakeholders.
  • Line manage a team of two, responsible for month-end and year-end accounting for group holding companies.
  • Maintain the integrity of group reporting systems, including cost centres, chart of accounts, and month-end transaction refreshes.
  • Oversee intercompany position reconciliations and manage group holding company cash positions.
Requirements:
  • Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Audit or statutory reporting proficiency, preferably gained in a top 10 accountancy practice.
  • UK GAAP proficiency, with experience of multiple currency consolidation.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Energetic and self-motivated, with a passion for financial accounting and reporting.
