Job Purpose

As a Fleet Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our vehicle fleet. This includes managing the day-to-day maintenance, administration, and logistics of our fleet of over 240 vans. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our vehicles are always on the road, legally compliant, and well-maintained.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of vehicle maintenance, including booking MOTs, services, and repairs with external providers.
  • Handle any breakdowns or accidents, including insurance claims and ensuring all vehicles are correctly taxed and insured.
  • Manage the administration of payments for tolls, congestion charge, parking permits, and parking charges.
  • Liaise with drivers on training, complaints, and scheduling of works.
  • Order and distribute fuel cards, conduct driver licence checks, and plan and order vehicles against workforce plans.
  • Be responsible for all vehicle and driver data, with the capacity to look into future technical options.
  • Liaise with payroll for any deductions and ensure all required paperwork is completed promptly.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in administering a fleet of commercial vehicles, ideally 100+ vehicles.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a wide range of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Clean UK driving licence, with the ability to drive manual vehicles.
  • Experience within vehicle servicing/maintenance would be desirable.
