Job Title: Injection Moulding Tool Setter

At International Automotive Components, we are seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Tool Setter to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our injection moulding equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner to ensure the timely completion of tool changes and production processes.
  • Prepare tools and equipment in advance of tool changes to minimize downtime.
  • Set up robot heads and load programs to optimize production efficiency.
  • Sling and lift tools using cranes to ensure safe and efficient handling.
  • Start and stop injection moulding presses to meet production requirements.
  • Presentation of first-off parts to the Quality Department for inspection.
  • Adhere to IAC Quality and work procedures to ensure high-quality products.
  • Report faults to the tool-room or maintenance team in accordance with IAC procedures.
  • Ensure accurate completion of job packs prior to and at tool change.
  • Record deviations and troubleshoot process improvements as directed by the Process Engineer.
  • Responsible for safety checks, housekeeping, and routine maintenance checks in and around machine areas.
  • Participate in SMED activities to improve production efficiency.
  • Work to and report KPI targets/results with respect to tool change times and OEE data.
  • Perform colour changes as required.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Injection Moulding and Tool Setting (or actively pursuing).
  • Overhead Crane License.
  • Numerate and literate to minimum O Level/GCSE 'C'.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Injection Moulding and Tool Setting (desirable).
Experience:
  • Experience with injection moulding, robots, and processes such as gas injection, low-pressure injection, foil moulding, and in-mould cloth.
  • Experience of tool setting in a fast-paced plastic injection moulding environment.
  • Experience of tool setting in an automotive environment (desirable).
Behaviours:
