Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Setter to join our team. As a Tool Setter, you'll be responsible for ensuring that tool changes occur efficiently and that processes are started to enable the manufacturing team to produce high-quality parts for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work safely at all times, adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, and report any hazards or incidents within the shift.
  • Prepare tools and equipment in advance of a tool change.
  • Set up robot heads and load programmes.
  • Sling and lift tools using cranes.
  • Set tools in presses and start them up in line with production requirements.
  • Start and stop injection moulding presses.
  • Presentation of first-off parts to the Quality Department for first-off process.
  • Adhere to IAC Quality and work procedures.
  • Report faults to the tool-room/maintenance in accordance with IAC procedures.
  • Ensure accurate completion of job packs prior to and at tool change.
  • Record deviations.
  • Troubleshoot and support process improvements as directed by the Process Engineer.
  • Responsible for safety checks, housekeeping in and around machine areas, routine maintenance checks where specified – always being aware of the safety of other employees.
  • Participate in SMED activities.
  • Work to and report KPI targets/results with respect to tool change times and OEE data.
  • Perform colour changes.
  • Any other projects or tasks assigned by the management team.
Requirements:
  • Hold or be actively pursuing an NVQ Level 2 in Injection Moulding and Tool Setting.
  • Overhead Crane License.
  • Numerate and literate to minimum O Level/GCSE 'C'.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Injection Moulding and Tool Setting (desirable).
Experience:
  • Experience with injection moulding, robots, and processes such as gas injection, low-pressure injection, foil moulding, and in-mould cloth are essential.
  • Experience of tool setting in a fast-paced plastic injection moulding environment.
  • Experience of tool setting in an automotive environment (desirable).
Behaviours:

  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks on shift.

  • Organised and analytical thinker (desirable).
