Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage projects from the initial planning phase through to final commissioning.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and supervise operational teams, ensuring effective planning and coordination of on-site activities.
  • Procurement Management: Handle logistics related to equipment, materials, and plant procurement.
  • Project Administration: Conduct general project management tasks, including the NEC contract processes.
  • Health and Safety: Produce and review documentation related to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Compile and finalize quality assurance documentation.
  • Documentation Management: Update essential construction documents and collaborate with project teams on programs and working drawings.
  • Financial Coordination: Assist commercial and quantity surveying teams with account management and notifications.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain electronic filing systems and organize site documentation.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Engagement: Participate in and contribute to meetings with both internal and external stakeholders, whether on-site or at client locations.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee and manage subcontractors effectively.
  • Training & Development: Provide training and support for team development and progression.
  • Reporting: Regularly report to the head of the department.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems; an electrical-specific qualification is preferred.
  • Management Credentials: Relevant qualifications such as a Degree, HNC, or NVQ in a construction-related field.
  • Sector Experience: Proven experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly with large-scale Solar PV projects.
  • Driving License: A full UK driving license is required.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with a collaborative mindset.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills and the flexibility to travel as needed.
  • Health & Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, environmental, and CDM regulations.
  • Willingness to Travel: Availability to travel nationwide for various projects.
