About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Head of Service, responsible for leading the strategic development and operational management of our Midlands region.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering outstanding outcomes, with a strong understanding of child-related regulatory standards and legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic development and operational management of the Midlands region
  • Deliver outstanding outcomes and ensure the highest level of service is provided
  • Ensure compliance with relevant government agendas and frameworks
  • Manage a team of 10+ staff, including qualified social workers
  • Oversee the growth and development of foster carer recruitment, assessment work, supervision, training, and supporting carers and their children and young people
  • Develop and implement business plans, including resource management, budgeting, and financial forecasting
  • Lead and manage change within the organisation, ensuring the protection of children and young people and the promotion of their welfare
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager or equivalent Senior Management role
  • Strong understanding of child-related regulatory standards and legislation
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and improve performance
  • Ability to manage competing expectations of stakeholders, ensuring the child's safety and well-being is at the heart of decision-making
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and confidence with others
  • Ability to identify talent and performance, and develop and motivate teams
