Job Title: Head of Waste Services

4Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced Head of Waste Services to join their team based in Stoke on Trent.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will work closely with the Portfolio Holder and Director to ensure that the waste services are delivered efficiently and effectively, meeting the requirements of the City Council and maintaining statutory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the local, regional, and sub-regional market intelligence, enabling them to identify opportunities and direct resources to secure financially advantageous outcomes for the City Council.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making
  • Maintain effective relationships with elected representatives to build confidence and understanding of the political direction and expectations
  • Ensure the waste services are delivered in a timely manner, meeting the requirements of the City Council and maintaining statutory compliance
Person Specification:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the public sector
  • Strong understanding of market intelligence and strategic decision-making
