Job Summary

Moxie People is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Floating Support Worker to join our team in supporting vulnerable individuals in crisis and at risk of homelessness in Cardiff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver trauma-sensitive, personalized support to individuals in housing crisis or at risk of homelessness, working independently within the community.
  • Provide life-changing, person-centered support, helping clients take control of their lives and achieve their goals, while coordinating with other services to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, respecting their choices and diversity, and providing support that is tailored to their unique needs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and risk assessments to identify client needs and develop effective support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with other services, including housing providers, healthcare professionals, and social services, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant policies, procedures, and best practices in homelessness prevention and support, and apply this knowledge to inform practice and improve outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Experience in support work, particularly with people who are in housing need or homeless, with a strong understanding of the benefits and housing system.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding processes and risk assessments, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Full-time access to a vehicle to attend appointments in the community, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
