Key ResponsibilitiesDue to significant project expansion, an exciting opportunity has emerged for a knowledgeable Strategic Sourcing Manager to spearhead the procurement of all designated raw materials and packaging categories within a vibrant team.
The primary objective of your role will be to ensure that the procurement of all assigned materials and packaging aligns with best practices in procurement and supply chain management, adheres to company policies, and meets site quality and cost-efficiency targets.
You will be responsible for:
- Formulating global strategies for sourcing, establishing, and managing budgets, performance metrics, and business objectives for the direct procurement of raw materials and packaging.
- Building and nurturing strategic supplier partnerships for the assigned categories (chemical raw materials and packaging).
- Monitoring supplier performance and communicating rankings to facilitate ongoing improvements.
- Collaborating with Global Sourcing to ensure effective coordination of essential purchasing activities, global contracts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Managing direct material and packaging suppliers, including negotiations, contract management, and quality evaluations.
- Defining and overseeing supplier performance reviews, including audits (ISO 9000).
- Enhancing the tracking process of supplier performance through pre-established KPIs.
- Assisting management and departmental teams in periodic business audits and the updating of all operational procedures.
- Contributing to site-wide health and safety objectives by participating in all aspects of health and safety training.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Extensive experience in an industrial purchasing, procurement, or sourcing role.
- Proficiency in SAP systems.
- Preferred background in the chemical industry or manufacturing.
- Strong process management skills, including experience with auditing processes.
