Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a skilled professional to conduct inspections of highway structures in Essex. This position requires the use of cutting-edge technology, including BridgeStation, as well as performing inspections on foot, utilizing MEWP, and applying drone inspection methods. As an integral member of the inspection team, you will contribute significantly to the enhancement of asset information for bridges throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting General Inspections of highway structures
  • Performing Principal Inspections of highway structures
  • Accurately identifying and reporting defects
  • Immediately reporting safety-related defects
  • Representing the organization in public settings
  • Creating comprehensive reports and sketches
  • Managing a diverse workload effectively
  • Entering defect information into the BridgeStation database
  • Preparing Defect Sketches and Photo Location Plans
Ideal Candidate
  • Possession of a full driving license
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong understanding of structural behavior and inspection standards
  • Capability to assess risks and suggest mitigation strategies
  • Experience in public engagement
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Able to work at heights and in aquatic environments
