The Energy Division at ARM is actively seeking a seasoned Technical Engineering Lead - Control & Instrumentation with a robust background in overseeing significant projects to join a prestigious Engineering & Design Consultancy.
Position Summary:
We are on the lookout for a Technical Engineering Lead to become part of the Major Projects team within our Nuclear & Power EMEA sector, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering Delivery.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid engineering foundation and will play a crucial role in resource allocation, recruitment, and the development of capability enhancement strategies for our teams, ensuring the successful execution of our project portfolio.
You will be tasked with managing technical initiatives alongside a team of engineers engaged in multidisciplinary activities and collaborating with other construction-related fields.
This role offers the opportunity to lead an exciting array of projects and future prospects to grow and enhance the team dedicated to delivering our major project initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to act as the Technical Engineering Lead, overseeing the formulation and execution of high-caliber engineering solutions in alignment with our Sector Management System, adhering to internal processes and protocols.
This encompasses multidisciplinary design and validation tasks for new facilities, equipment, machinery, and infrastructure, as well as the adaptation and refurbishment of existing structures and systems, including condition assessments and validations of various components.
You will manage an engineering delivery team that leverages our capabilities, technologies, and products to produce innovative solutions while capturing lessons learned and continuous improvements in supporting documentation, such as case studies and capability statements.
Additionally, you will negotiate with internal stakeholders and the supply chain to establish requirements, ensuring that projects commence with the appropriate engineering perspective.
This will involve supervising a team of engineers, managing competency requirements, and conducting ongoing assessments to foster continuous improvement.
Qualifications for Success:
The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, having led engineering tasks and projects that integrate multidisciplinary delivery, including mechanical, civil, electrical, and control & instrumentation disciplines.
Experience in highly regulated sectors with a solid understanding of engineering design and validation, as well as familiarity with UK and International design codes and industry regulations, is essential.
You should possess the ambition and drive to establish our company as a trusted partner and supplier, recognized for technical excellence and quality delivery in relevant engineering disciplines. The ability to manage and guide diverse bid teams and collaborate with colleagues across the broader organization is crucial, along with a willingness to utilize our Global Technology Centre and supply chain to gain a competitive edge and ensure quality.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team while exhibiting strong leadership qualities is required. Self-motivation and the capability to work independently as well as within a larger multidisciplinary team are essential.
