Job Title: HSE Advisor

SimX Ltd is seeking a highly skilled HSE Advisor to support the day-to-day health, safety, and environmental requirements for our site in Great Yarmouth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct Employee HSE Inductions: Ensure all employees receive comprehensive health, safety, and environmental training to maintain a safe working environment.
  2. Manage Behavioural Safety Observation System: Implement and maintain a Behavioural Safety Observation System to monitor and improve workforce participation in safety initiatives.
  3. Document Site Tours and Inspections: Conduct regular site tours and inspections to identify potential hazards and document findings and follow-up actions.
  4. Weekly Fire Alarm Testing and Emergency Exercises: Coordinate and conduct weekly fire alarm testing and emergency exercise scenarios to ensure preparedness and compliance.
  5. Schedule and Chair HSE Committee Meetings: Organize and lead HSE Committee meetings, fire warden meetings, and toolbox talks to promote open communication and safety awareness.
  6. Lead Accident and Incident Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations into accidents and incidents, including root cause analysis and sharing of learnings to prevent future occurrences.
  7. Provide Input to Site Health and Safety Internal Audits: Contribute to site health and safety internal audits and compile and distribute HSE and technical alerts to ensure compliance and best practices.
  8. Reporting and Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of HSE data, statistics, and COSHH records, including chemical hazard risk assessments and safety data sheets.
Requirements:
  1. Strong Communication and Influencing Skills: Ability to build influential relationships and communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  2. Proactive Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to working with people and strong problem-solving skills.
  3. NEBOSH General Certificate: Possession of a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  4. Accident/Incident Investigation: Experience in conducting accident and incident investigations.
  5. COSHH Assessor: Certification as a COSHH Assessor.
  6. ISO 45001 and ISO Knowledge: Understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO standards.
  7. IOSH Membership: Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
  8. Manual Handling Assessor: Certification as a Manual Handling Assessor.
  9. Internal Auditor: Experience as an Internal Auditor.
  10. Previous HSE Experience: Previous experience in a similar industry.
