About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Ward Manager to join our team at Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Ward Manager, you will be responsible for the clinical and operational leadership of our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on Endcliffe Ward.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and management to the ward team, ensuring a safe and effective service is delivered within allocated resources.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, patient outcomes, and service user experience.
- Manage the ward environment, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and protocols, including health and safety, healthcare-associated infection, risk management, and critical incident reporting.
- Act as a change agent, developing clinically effective practice through the effective utilization and integration of evidence.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
About the Team
Our team is committed to providing high-quality care to individuals experiencing moderate to severe mental health crises. We work closely with internal services and external agencies to ensure seamless care pathways. Our goal is to reduce length of stay and improve patient outcomes, aligning with NAPICU standards.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse on part 1 of the live register.
- Post-registration experience within acute inpatient services with a management/leadership role.
- Evidence of continuous personal and professional development and willingness to undertake a qualification in leadership or management, to degree level or above.

- Qualification in a leadership or management module or course at degree level or above.
- Project management skills.
