About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Adviser to join our Prudential and Sustainability Team at HM Treasury. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing policy on prudential banking and sustainable finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and deliver high-quality policy advice to ministers and senior officials on prudential banking and sustainable finance.
  2. Develop and implement policy initiatives to support the UK's financial regulators in their work on capital requirements for banks and securitisation.
  3. Lead policy development on overseas regimes related to capital regulation, ensuring that UK policy is aligned with international best practice.
  4. Advise on legislative requirements to support regulator rule making, ensuring that policy is effective and efficient.
  5. Line manage one SEO, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of policy objectives.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced policy professional with a strong understanding of financial services regulation and the legislative process. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex policy issues in a clear and concise manner. You will also have a proven track record of delivering high-quality policy advice and leading policy development initiatives.
