About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Coordinator to join our Sizewell C (SZC) team. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide key support to the SZC DCO Planning Team in the delivery of obligations set out in the DCO Consent and Deed of Obligation.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including Local Authorities and other project teams.
  • Package and deliver key electronic submissions, and maintain required controls for managing documents in company systems and trackers.
  • Support the delivery of the planning strategy required for the Project, including securing additional consents necessary for the construction programme.
  • Support on any material or non-material changes required to the existing Development Consent Order and deliver the strategy and approvals to secure these changes.
  • Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with Local Authorities at Officer level to effectively discharge all planning requirements under the DCO.
  • Support engagement with all key stakeholders and decision-makers on planning matters for the SZC project.
  • Support required governance arrangements for the DCO, including Governance Groups and processes specified in the SZC Deed of Obligation.
  • Coordinate all planning work in line with specified budgets and feed into the monthly financial reporting process with forecast spend against each budget line item to inform accruals.
  • Help arrange regular visits to the construction site for relevant Officers from the Local Authorities.
  • Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within the work area, including process, programme, risk, budget, and priorities.
  • Ensure schedules are developed and maintained for all work undertaken and record-keeping is in line with project requirements.
  • Support on ad-hoc activities necessary to support the DCO or wider Project teams from time to time.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Planning Coordinator who can demonstrate:

  • A qualification in a relevant discipline, such as town planning or environmental management.
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge and experience of the legal and regulatory requirements for projects, at all stages of the planning process.
  • Recent experience working in a major infrastructure project role, with experience of managing a team and/or consultants in a regulated environment.
  • Strong management skills, including project and financial management.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks both internally and externally.
