The SZC Project is a nuclear new build initiative located in Suffolk, having secured planning approval and government financing support. With construction underway, we are now looking for private investment to complete this project, which will ultimately supply reliable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting Britain's goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050.

Role Overview

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Rail team at Sizewell C (SZC). This is an excellent time to engage with a groundbreaking project.

Our teams operate with flexibility, utilizing a hybrid working model that combines office and remote work. We provide comprehensive IT equipment to ensure our employees can work effectively from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of a rail contract or railway work packages throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Network Rail Standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, suppliers, Network Rail, and team members.
  • Address tender inquiries, engage in supplier meetings, and contribute to tender technical reviews as necessary.
  • Manage and resolve issues within the contract or package promptly.
  • Ensure the delivery of the List of Deliverables related to the scope of work.

You will also need to demonstrate industry knowledge and experience in the rail infrastructure sector.

Required Skills

  • Experience in the design and/or delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations.
  • Familiarity with APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2 methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in the nuclear sector is advantageous.
