Job Title: Apprentice Supervisor

At DNEG, we are seeking an experienced Apprentice Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Pipeline team, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Pipeline TDs, ATDs, and Apprentices, ensuring the smooth operation of our global pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor a team of technical artists and developers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Manage and contribute to the development of tools and workflows, ensuring they meet the needs of our shows.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements, ensuring the overall pipeline is optimized.
  • Train artists in new technology and techniques, and create user-friendly documentation and tutorials.
  • Generate and monitor support and development tickets for our shows.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience at a supervisory level in the Visual Effects industry.
  • Excellent Python, Maya, and Linux skills.
  • Experience in developing tools for DCC packages such as Maya, Houdini, and/or Nuke.
  • Experience with source control systems and team development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
  • Expert understanding of the visual effects pipeline.
  • Experience with renderers such as PRMan, Clarisse, or Mantra.
