About the Role
The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and organized Materials Management Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient procurement service for our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide internal supply chain services using electronic receipts systems and bar code data capture systems.
- Unpack and check items against delivery records, taking corrective action where necessary, and maintaining audit records.
- Provide a materials management service to purchase regular stock and non-stock items to meet ward/department requirements.
- Ensure stock rotation and replenishing products in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and goods are put away in a timely manner on receipt.
- Use a hand-held bar code scanner to manage and replenish designated stock to the agreed level, raising stock and non-stock requisitions.
- Unpack, check, and book in deliveries.
- Liaise with internal staff and external suppliers on stock management.
- Investigate and solve delivery and payment issues.
- Produce stock reports/data analysis to advise ward/department managers and finance staff on purchasing patterns/costs.
- Process purchase orders and recommend sources of supply/savings to customers.
- Respond to Field Safety Notices received via logistic leads.
- Deputize for the Logistics Supervisor when required.
