Job Title: Content Assistant / Facilitator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Content Assistant / Facilitator to join our team at BBC Radio Scotland. As a Content Assistant / Facilitator, you will be responsible for providing sighted assistance to a blind Content Producer, supporting the production of high-quality content across a range of BBC Radio Scotland programmes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Content Producer in producing a wide range of material for programmes
  • Support with the operation of recording equipment and microphones
  • Provide reading and research support, as well as identifying potential programme ideas
  • Build strong relationships with the wider radio and audio resources team
  • Assist the Content Producer in writing up accurate briefing notes and note-taking in meetings
  • Support with the gathering of photographs or video content
  • Use various BBC software packages and perform general administrative tasks
Requirements:
  • Attention to detail and planning and organising skills
  • Experience or interest in a radio production environment
  • Editing skills and ability to learn new technical skills as required
  • Full, valid driving license and experience of driving on Scotland's rural roads
  • Excellent communication skills and interest in developing programme ideas
  • Flexibility to work away from home and travel across Scotland for up to 2-3 nights at a time, as and when required
