Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Content Assistant to support our Radio Speech production team in Inverness. The successful candidate will work closely with a blind Content Producer to produce high-quality content for various BBC Radio Scotland programmes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the Content Producer in producing a wide range of material for programmes
  • Support with the operation of recording equipment and microphones
  • Provide reading and research support, as well as identifying potential programme ideas
  • Build strong relationships with the wider radio and audio resources team
  • Assist the Content Producer with writing up accurate briefing notes and note-taking in meetings
  • Support with gathering photographs or video content
  • Use various BBC software packages and perform general administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience or interest in a radio production environment
  • Editing skills and ability to learn new technical skills as required
  • Full, valid driving license and experience of driving on Scotland's rural roads
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel across Scotland for up to 2-3 nights at a time
