We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Buyer to join our Commercial team as maternity cover for a Buyer of contact lenses. In this role, you will work within the Contact Lens Category team to support and devise trading plans for the category, including ongoing development of our customer proposition, support store implementation plans, and finding additional margin opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a compelling strategy to retain our market-leading position in the contact lens category.
- Manage the range of contact lenses, analyzing performance and recommending improvements to optimize sales and profitability.
- Be a category expert, conducting ongoing research and analysis of suppliers, customers, competitors, and internal performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Manage pricing and promotions for contact lenses, understanding competitor activity and product pricing dynamics to maximize sales and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating price deals and ensuring seamless communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform commercial decisions and drive business growth.
- Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Essential contact lens product knowledge to align product specifications with customer needs.
- Commercial acumen and a drive to continually improve processes and outcomes.
