Senior Youth Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Worker to join our team in Fife Council. The successful candidate will work positively with youth work teams in a community setting to engage effectively with young people in their own communities and contribute towards the learning and development of young people and youth work colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of youth workers to plan, organise and evaluate general youth work activities such as arts and crafts sessions, sports events, team challenges, group discussions and project work.
  • Ensure that the youth work team creates an environment where young people are able to relax, meet friends, make new relationships, have fun and find support.
  • Oversee the organisation and delivery of learning and educational youth work activities in a safe, supportive and positive environment.
  • Complete personal evaluation materials and support the Community Education Worker in the delivery of learning activities and projects.

Requirements

  • Significant experience of working directly with young people in a youth work, school or social work setting.
  • Ability to work positively within a team environment and have an understanding of group work approaches.
  • Good communication skills and sensitivity to the environments you will be working in.
  • IT literacy, good standard of literacy and numeracy skills and ability to write evaluation and update reports for a variety of audiences.
  • PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and membership of the relevant PVG scheme.
